Why not? If your wallet held enough of the printed notes, I'm sure you could have had whatever colour they had at the time.
Was the RS2 painted in the Porsche factory at Zuffenhausen? I was under the impression the body was built and painted in Ingolstat before being shipped to Zuffenhausen for assembly?.
That link further up to the RS2 colours doesn't show Ragussa Green, which the RS2 defo came in.
Wish I still had it, but years ago when I bought my first Audi (1997) I had a picture of an RS2 in Kingfisher Blue from Germany. Engine bay showed kingfisher, along with door shuts and spare wheel well, so assumed it to be a factory job rather than aftermarket.
Pic long gone though.

The Pearl white RS2 often seen at shows and posted in this thread isn't that much different to the idea of one in another colour available at the time.
Pearl White wasn't offered as one of the standard colours, so it's safe to assume if someone ordered and paid for that, then another "not offered" colour could be had.
You could get the RS2 in Ruby red, I can't say I've even seen one though.
Can't say I've ever seen an ABY Coupe in Pearl White either.
Here's the standard RS2 colours; (I believe Polar Silver is the only true Porsche colour)

That white one reg looks like the one that was here in inverness either that or there is another as i remember the last three letters RND and thought about roundabouts when i first seen the letters, i took it out for a test drive at the time drove superb along culloden battle field
it sat on the fourcourt for a year and half at £14995 it had loads of work done to it new ecu brakes alround including calipers was a really nice car some women bought it took a mehanic up with her from england-shire and left a list of things she wanted repaired and agreed a price

That green one is Aqua, I stumbled across it on a german site about three years ago, allegedly the only RHD one in that colour.
The pearl white is a guy in Club Audi, I think he's had it for about three years.
If your pockets are deep......... you can get almost anything, especially in Europe, it appears to be Audi UK that raise objections ( i tried to get a pearl white 80 Sport in 1990 - germany told me I could have it but that I had to order via Milton Keynes ....who said push off! )
there is one S3 in the UK , finished in Rosso red ( ferrari red and a special order but was bought from a German dealer as a UK spec RHD car.Comment

Yeah i believe that is aqua marine metallic, pics dont really do that colour much justice, you dont get to see the slight changes in shade as you would do if you were actually with the car...
i wasnt too chuffed about the colour of mine at first, but having cleaned it and seeing someone else drive past in it defo made me change my mind. Looks goooooorjus! I'm not biased at all!
